Basic elements

In this section we'll dive into the different basic elements that you can use on your page.

Generic Properties

Elements and apps are configured by setting their properties. Many elements and apps share a set of generic properties. Here's an overview of the most common generic properties.

Name Explanation
Font type Select one of the many different font types for the text in the selected element. The available fonts can be managed on the font management page (if available in your subscription).
Text size Adjust the text size in the element.
Text color Pick the color of the text within your element. To directly enter a RBG color, overwrite the hsv value with a value in #-notation, e.g. #00AAEEF.
Add some shadow Drop a shadow behind the text within the element to have it pop out a bit more. The shadow size and distance is relative to the text size.
Transparency Set the level of transparency.
Alignment Set the way you like the text within the element to be aligned: to the left, centered, to the right or justified.
Move to front/back Allows you to place elements in front or behind each other. From left to right you can:
  1. move element back one level
  2. move element to front one level
  3. move element behind all other elements
  4. move element in front of other all elements
Page start animation + timing Select the animation the element should perform when the page becomes visible during playback. See the element animations for more details.
Animation while showing (Only available in Full and Pro subscriptions) Select the element's animation between the moment when the element appears and when it disappears again. When you choose the Ken Burns effect for an image, you get an additional option to set the zoom direction: to one of the corners or to the center.
Page end animation + timing Select the animation the element should perform when the page disappears out of wight during playback. See the element animations for more details. ****
Touch triggers... (Only available in Pro subscriptions) Enables you to designate the element as a touch target. Then, if during playback the user touches the element, it will trigger the event selected here. With this, you can interrupt regular playback and immediately switch to a different playlist. In this select box, you can:
  • Select one of the existing events
  • Select the standard event Resume playback, which will resume regular timed playback
  • Add a new event (that you can then link to another playlist in the channel schedule)
Besides touching the element, you can also click it with the mouse to trigger the associated event.

Element Animations

During playback of your pages, there are two moments when you can schedule element animations:

  1. when the page is becomes visible
  2. when the page is disappears out of sight (because the next page is being shown)

For both moments you can configure element animations:

  1. Page start animation + timing
Select the type of animation when the page becomes visible and set the number of seconds the element should wait before it starts to animate.
  2. Page end animation + timing
Select the type of animation when the page disappears out of sight. The animation sequence starts X seconds before the page is hidden, where X is the highest page end animation timing of all elements on the page. So, for example, say there are three elements on the page: text, image and box with page end animation timings 2s, 4s, 0s, respectively. The animation then starts 4 seconds before the page hides, beginning with the box (at 0s), then the text (2 seconds later) and lastly the image (4 seconds later).

Pexels

Free stock videos can be directly downloaded from Pexels by going to the Pexels tab and browsing or searching for a video you like. Note that search can currently only be done in English. Once you've selected a video with the Use selected video button, it will be downloaded first (which can take a bit of time, depending on your network speed) and then uploaded to your own video catalog, after which it will be added to your page.
